BAC Library construction from Biotechdesk India

Biotech Desk Pvt. Ltd. has tried up with Bio S&T to provide the Indian scientist three options for BAC library construction. The right option is dependent on future goals - Is the library for a full genome sequencing project or are you seeking a few BAC clones of interest, or numerous targets or are filters required etc.?

Three options for BAC Library construction are available:

1 .ARRAYED BAC LIBRARY (WITH CLONE PICK-UP)

• Coverage is guaranteed.
• Client will receive original library.
• Clones will be arrayed and amplified in 384-well plates (1 unique clone/well), and shipped on dry ice.
• Plates will be identified with bar-coded labels.
• Amount of clones received is based on a guaranteed coverage and 120Kb average insert size.
• Filters available only with this option.

2. NON-ARRAYED BAC LIBRARY (NO CLONE PICK-UP)

• Coverage is guaranteed.
• Client will receive original library.
• BAC clone mixtures (transformed E. coli cells containing BAC DNA) are stored in glycerol and shipped on dry ice.
• An additional 5% of clones will be shipped at no extra charge to compensate for loss of titer during delivery.
• Amount of clones received is based on a guaranteed coverage and 120Kb average insert size.
• This option is interesting if you plan to array and/or screen the library yourself.

3. BAC LIBRARY SCREENING

• Client will receive guaranteed 2 positive clones in dry ice per target screened.
• Coverage is guaranteed.
• Remaining BAC clones are not included but will be stored for future use and/or purchase.
• This choice is very cost-efficient if you are seeking a few target clones that will contain your sequences of interest.
• Please note that we offer full BAC clone sequencing at a very competitive price.
