Bio S & T has its own patented APA™ technology. APAgene™ is the ideal genomic tool because it allows you to carry out an entire range of molecular genetic experiences. APAgene™ kits are designed to rapidly and reliably amplify unknown genomic DNA. It can be used for gap filling, localized cloning of genomic DNA, isolating promoter and regulatory sequences corresponding to cloned cDNAs, 5' and 3' RACE of first-strand cDNAs, and identifying intron/exon junctions. It can also be used for insert-end amplification of large clones such as P1, YAC and BAC as well as localized sub-cloning of large clones such as P1, YAC and BAC.
It also has developed the pLivSelect. Cloning vector, which provides an innovative direct selection system for recombinant identification. The key part of this revolutionary cloning system comprises:
- A lacI repressor sequence that has been engineered to contain multiple cloning sites (MCS);
- A lac-ABR operon where the antibiotic resistant gene (e.g. Ampr, cat, etc.) is placed under the regulation of the lac operon. Therefore, cells that are harboring the non-recombinant vector cannot survive on agar plates containing an antibiotic.
HIV and retrovirus research products
tRNA is most widely used as the primer of retroviral reverse transcriptases. The 3' end of the tRNA primer binds to the complementary binding site on the viral RNA therefore initiating reverse transcription. The extraction and purification of the tRNA from a natural source, such as human placenta, are highly complicated procedures. Bio S&T Inc is the only company that commercially provides highly pure human tRNAs.
