Initially when Monoclonal antibodies were discovered there was a great hope for clinical use of antibodies. But this excitement gave way to pessimism as the antibodies derived from mouse induced unwanted immune response when subjected to humans. For this various technologies like display, humanization and transgenic animals have allowed Antibody based drugs that can overcome the Human Immune system. Recombinant antibodies are ideal for therapeutics because of their long half life, amenability to manipulation and improved binding to antigen.
Genscript can produce recombinant antibodies or rAbs using licensed technologies from NRC for transient and stable mammalian expression in HEK293 & CHO cell lines. The customer provides the antibody sequence for both Light and Heavy Chains. >95% purity is ensured by SDS-PAGE/HPLC with Endotoxin levels <1-10 EU/mg depending upon the quantity of rAb required.
